A birthday celebration took a harrowing turn when 52-year-old Keith Smith contacted dispatchers in Baltimore, Maryland, on December 1, 2018, asserting that his wife had been attacked and stabbed by a homeless individual while he and his daughter, Valeria, remained in their vehicle.
Upon their arrival at Johns Hopkins Hospital, 54-year-old Jacquelyn Jacqui Smith was pronounced dead, having sustained multiple stab wounds to her chest.
Keith Smith recounted that they had stopped at an intersection where a homeless woman with a baby was soliciting donations, and Jacqui had given her ten dollars. He further claimed that shortly thereafter, another man approached their vehicle.
In an instant, this man began stabbing my wife, Keith Smith stated in recorded police audio, also alleging that the panhandler had taken his wife’s necklace and wallet.
However, law enforcement officials found discrepancies in his account, noting that the site of the purported robbery and stabbing was situated in a sparsely populated area.
