At 3:42 p.m., a telecommunicator contacted Verizon to request an updated location ping.
At 3:50 p.m., detectives with Air3 sUAV arrived at Lumber River State Park.
During an aerial search, detectives were approached by an individual who claimed to have found a bag with Mica's ID inside while fishing. The bag was taken into possession by the detectives. The findings of the Robeson County Sheriff's Office indicated that the individual heard crying followed by a gunshot. He mentioned going further into the slough where he discovered the bag about two feet from the water's edge.
