This week on Let’s Talk – Black Power, special guest host Kevin Yow Yeh brings you another special recording live from the UQ Students for Palestine encampment at the University of Queensland. Listen in to a rich and wide-ranging conversation between Darumbal and South Sea Islander scholar and journalist Dr. Amy McQuire and insurgent Blak journalist Nick Chesterfield, facilitated by Dr. Anna Carlson from the Brisbane Free University. This discussion took place as part of a Teach In organised by the Brisbane Free University and Students for Palestine UQ, and saw participants engaging in a deep dialogue about the foundational complicity of colonial media in creating the conditions for state violence and impunity, and the importance of sustaining and building spaces for insurgent Blak journalism.
