Tune in this morning for a special live broadcast of Let’s Talk Black Knowing. Chelsea and David reflect on the week that was: from the Melbourne Writers Festival & the Australian Palestine Advocacy Network conference in Naarm last week; through to the Magic Round of the NRL (and the mundane violence visited on players like Latrell Mitchell); Swimming Queensland’s decision to lobby the National Gallery to remove a portrait of Gina Rinehart by Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara artist, Vincent Namitjira; and their experiences providing expert advice to the Commission of Inquiry into Missing & Murdered Aboriginal Women here in so-called brisbane last week. They wrap up the show with some reflections on the 76th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, commemorated around the world last week on Wednesday 15th May. They reflect on the significance of marking this date while we watch genocide unfold in Gaza, and ongoing projects of ethnic cleansing across the Palestinian territories. And they wrap up with some reflections on the student encampments that are taking root across the globe, with young people standing up to demand transparency and accountability from their universities, an end to the military industrial complex, and the complete divestment of universities from companies and institutions that are enabling and supporting the genocide in Gaza.

All in all, a huge live discussion on some of the topics that matter most this week, and another reminder of why Black Thoughts Matter (see: Watego 2024, forthcoming!)
