Uncle Les Colins was born on Wakka Wakka Country, but family ties also connect Les and his family to Southwest QLD. Uncle Les grew up experiencing the impacts of Stolen Generations, we let Uncle Les shares a yarn about how times were when he was younger, when times where the toughest for Aboriginal people under the ACT, where the law at the time really monitored where Aboriginal people could go, who they could marry, right down to getting permission to make basic purchases.
