It is amazing how some of the songs from western world inspired mellisai mannargal MS Viswanathan and Ramamoorthy in the 1960s. Songs from western countries like these certainly crossed oceans when the only means of travel is via vinyl records (physically). A Spanish song from the 1940s and a popular song by Elvis Presley in the 1950s paved way to two beautiful songs in the movie Kathalikka Neramillai (released in 1964).
Rock and Roll was the trend-setter for the people who were just born in 1960s. Now, they are in their 60s.
