Start with a plan Before you create a podcast that grows your business, you must first develop a plan and strategy for your podcast. Think about the purpose of the podcast and the audience you want to attract. What will be your theme and focus? Then decide how you will brand your podcast to stand out from the more than 100,000 podcasts already on the air. Hosting a podcast provides you a wonderful opportunity to be viewed as an expert. However, you will not be recognized as an expert overnight. If you want to be successful, start with a plan and follow through. 3. Be willing to put in the work Every week we host a live teleseminar program. Our focus is helping new entrepreneurs get visibility and grow their business. We record the program live and then turn it into a podcast. You can do the same thing. But, before you begin, ask yourself are you willing to put in the work. As best- selling author, Don Yaeger says, “There are no secrets to be being successful at podcasting, you simply need to be willing to the common things uncommonly well.” We spend 4-5 hours a week, preparing for each 20-minute podcast.
