Rape is one of many forms of sexual violence, although it is not gender specific, the victims of this sexual menace are mostly women, adolescence and girls with grave consequences on physical and mental health of the victims, beyond causing physical injury, it is also associated with an increased risk of a range of sexual and reproductive health problems, with both immediate and long-term consequences, This is not to mention the stigma that is associated with being a rape victim.
Given the rising, we beam the search light on this issue with Nigeria in focus, as we attempt to put facts and figures to this trending issue via the Public perception poll conducted by @NoiPollltd with our Guest Betiku Adedoyin (Head of Corporate communications Noipolls)
We hope that through this topic, we stimulate discussions using the available data for advocacy movement and mitigate the issue of rape in our society offering lasting solutions and also encourage victims to report rape cases and see that offenders are punished for this crimes.
