In this episode, I will be talking about how a young adult or adolescent child can build a healthier communicative relationship with their parents. Growing up, I was surrounded with the freedom to communicate my thoughts openly without any fear or restrictions. However, this does not mean that my mother allowed me to say whatever came to my mouth. From a young age, I was taught the importance of honesty and never holding back for the approval of others. This example has taught me the importance of being authentic and resulting in my relationship with my mother to excel tremendously. I had the opportunity to talk to my mother about anything and she did the same, but maintaining our relationship took a lot of work! We both had to commit to being honest, authentic and willing to hear each other despite our opposing viewpoints. Learning how to communicate better with your child starts when both parties are ready to receive, exercise patience and willing to grow spiritually. Building a relationship with your parent is vital, but if this is not the case then be at peace with yourself and never stop growing towards becoming the best version of yourself.
