In Episode 72 we discuss the Spring 2020 edition of New Directions for Student Leadership, How Academic Disciplines Approach Leadership Development. We are joined by the editors of that issue, Matt Sowcik and Susan Komives. Matthew Sowcik is an assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural Education and Communication (AEC), and serves as the coordinator for the University of Florida's leadership minor. He also teaches undergraduate and graduate‐level courses concentrated on interpersonal leadership development, organizational leadership, and advanced leadership theory. Susan R. Komives is professor emerita in the student affairs graduate program at the University of Maryland College Park where she taught until 2012. She is past president of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education and ACPA: College Student Educators International. Dr. Komives is the co‐author or co‐editor of a dozen books.
