In this episode, we are discussing International Students and their inclusion in Socially Just Leadership practices. This conversation will take place with Ben Cecil and Pei Hu: Ben Cecil (he/him) serves as a Graduate Research Associate with the American Council on Education in Washington, D.C., working to support the research portfolio and team within ACE. Previously, he spent six years at the University of Georgia as the Assistant Director of International Student Life, where he worked directly with transition and support services for international students and oversaw engagement opportunities and intercultural competency development programs. Ben is a doctoral student in the Institute of Higher Education at the University of Georgia, broadly interested in the internationalization of higher education in the United States. He received his master's degree in higher education from Florida State University and a bachelor's degree in international affairs from the University of Georgia. Pei Hu (she/her) is an international doctoral student in the Higher Education program at Florida State University. Her research interests focus on academic leadership programs and international student leadership identity development. Currently, she serves as a graduate assistant for the Leadership Learning Research Center, responsible for conducting leadership research projects and teaching in the Undergraduate Certificate in Leadership Studies. Pei received her bachelor’s degree in Chinese literature and linguistics from Jianghan University in China and obtained her master’s degree in higher education at Florida State University.
