On March 17, 2022, the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations hosted an online briefing program "Destination Oman: Heritage, Culture, Adventure." It was a virtual visit to the Sultanate of Oman, one of the most historically and culturally rich of all Arab and Islamic societies. H.E. Moosa Hamdan Al Tai, Oman's Ambassador to the United States, provided opening reflections on the Oman-U.S. relationship; Professor Linda Pappas Funsch commented on Oman's remarkable modernization efforts; Council Cultural Affairs Fellow Mr. Badar Al Yazeedi provided a presentation exploring some of of the sites in Oman that inspire wonder; and Council Founding President and CEO Dr. John Duke Anthony orchestrated the proceedings while providing background and context.
