last week, we began a new series, Right Relationships by looking at our relationship with God. We opened with Romans 12:1-2, where Paul told us to be a living sacrifice, giving God our bodies, mind and will. And I believe that Paul starts there because you cannot have “right relationships” in any other areas of your life if you do not first have a right relationship with God. In this week’s message, we are going to look at Romans 12:3-8. And these verses deal with our relationship with other believers. More specifically, I think these verses teach us how we are to interact with one another in the church. These verses also help us to understand or know what our role is in the local church, and then they teach us how we respond to one another. If we are going to be an effective and growing church, if we are going to make disciples in our community and around the world, then we have got to get our relationships right! We first need a right relationship with God and then we have to learn how to work together as the body of Christ to know how to grow the body of Christ. This passage graciously teaches how to get along with and work with one another in the church. But in order for us to function properly as a church body, you first have to identify your own role and giftedness within the church body. And I believe these 6 verses teach us both of those. Join us this week as we learn to understand our role in the church and how to relate to one another.
