It’s hard to believe, but early absentee voting will soon be underway in the fall election. And while a scattering of ill-informed critics continues to cast aspersions and promote conspiracy theories, the evidence is overwhelming that our state’s electoral systems are honest and trustworthy.

What’s more, for those who may still harbor doubts or have questions about how things work, our state is lucky enough to have a bipartisan pair of experts touring the state and holding events in the coming weeks at which people from all parties and perspectives are invited to come listen, learn and ask hard questions. And recently Newsline caught up with those experts — former Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts and former state Supreme Court Justice Bob Orr – to learn more about their Trusted Elections Tour and the efforts of the Network for Fair, Safe and Secure Elections.

The North Carolina Network for Fair, Safe, and Secure Elections is a cross-partisan initiative working for a more peaceful North Carolina where everyone can participate and have their voices heard.
