Jack Ford talks with Naima Stevenson Starks, NCAA Vice President of Hearing Operations, about the new Independent Accountability Resolution Process (IARP) and her role as the provider of strategic coordination for the this process, which stems directly from the Commission on College Basketball’s recommendation to bring more outside voices and expertise into the NCAA’s infractions process. Examples of complex cases include alleged violations of core NCAA values, such as prioritizing academics and the well-being of student-athletes; the possibility of major penalties; or adversarial behavior.
