NEW CENTURY, KS – Like the mythical Phoenix rising from the COVID-19 pandemic ashes, Fountain City Con returns this summer for two days of comics and pop culture goodness at the New Horizon Field-house in New Century, Kansas.Scheduled for the weekend of July 30-31, the two-day family-friendly event provides a gathering place for artists and fans to come together and share their common interests.The return of the expo is a welcome sign in a return to near-normalcy in the age of post-COVID, and the event organizers welcome the return of comic and anime fans to the event.“[After two one-day shows in 2021, we are looking to continue our mission to become the Midwest’s premier showcase for all things pop culture, from comics to original art, anime, collectible toys, and beyond]” said Fountain City Con [co-founder, Barry Poole].“[We welcome back all those who have supported us in the past, as well as those attending for the first time this summer.]” added FCC’s other co-founder, Jud Kite].Current artists scheduled to attend Fountain City Con in July include Eisner Award nominee, Phil Hester, illustrator of Green Arrow, Swamp Thing, Ant-Man, Batman Beyond and other comic books gracing the collections of comic lovers everywhere; Ringo Award nominee Leeanne Krecic, creator of the hit webtoon, Let’s Play; Chris Grine, creator of the Eisner-nominated series Chickenhare, as well as Time Shifters, and Secrets of Camp Whatever; and many others. An up-to-date list of artists attending the event can be found at https://www.fountaincitycon.com/new-page-3-2.Tickets for the two-day event are $20 for an adult two-day admission, $15 for Saturday-only admission, $10 for Sunday-only admission.
