Ray B. Shackelford is a native Houstonian who strives to make a difference in the lives of others. Ray left Houston to attend Morehouse College, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, concentrating in Finance. Upon his return to Houston, Ray became a member of the Houston Area Urban League for Young Professionals (HAULYP), and was eventually elected to serve as its President. As President, Ray steered HAULYP to an intense focus on service programming, including a cleanup of Martin Luther King Boulevard. His impact in that role led to him being named as the National President of the Year and elected as Southern Region Vice President of the National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP), through which he provides guidance and oversight to 20+ chapters across 10 states.

In this episode we discuss:

  • The process of discovering the makings of a good leader
