This week we will continue our quest to gain some understanding of human existence alongside our truthful, experienced, and ultimately, Godward friend for the journey, The Teacher, the writer of Ecclesiastes. Once again our friend is truthful in ways that we might wish he were not. He invites us to look carefully at the world as it is, not as we would like it to be. “Don’t look away!” Thankfully amidst the sad realities of life "under the sun" there is a glimmer of hope to be found in community. Yet, for anyone who is paying attention community is never a simple cure for the complex troubles that play out on the earth.
