Join our reporter Tom Howe for NEWSWAVE, your weekly rundown of the top stories happening across St Austell and surrounding areas.

We have got something a little different for this week's show as, all this week, CHAOS Radio have been collaborating with NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly to raise awareness about mental health services available in your local area and to share advice on how to improve your mental wellbeing.

You will hear from various teams during this special edition of NEWSWAVE, as part of our commitment to amplifying the conversation around Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from Monday, May 13 until Sunday, May 19, 2024.
On today’s show, we join resource centre based mental health recovery workers Zannagh Hatton - who offers art therapy and other interventions in support of individuals - and Nicholas Madge who used the service for his own recovery and is now supporting others.
We check in with assistant psychologist Tegen Jack and peer support worker Lucy Shephard to discuss their work within the Eating Disorders Team.
As well as that, we take a trip through mid-Cornwall with Zara Shoesmith - a health and wellbeing coach on the People in Mind Project at The CHAOS Group - to find out how people within the fishing, farming and construction industries are positively supporting their mental health.

If all that wasn’t enough, we sit down with Amy Dawes, operations lead, and service user Rosalind Reeves to explore the Talking Therapies service, which is free and confidential for people aged 16 years and over, and provides treatment for common mental health difficulties such as low mood, stress, and anxiety.
If you want to find out more about mental health services within Cornwall visit:

Alternatively, if you are seeking immediate support with your mental health, their team of professionals are available 24/7, call their number free of charge on 0800 038 5300.
