However, this is often mistakenly used when shocked or surprised. She probably was thinking of the English idiom “jaw drop” which is used when shocked or surprised and not when laughing—the opposite of the Japanese idiom!

確率(かくりつ) likelihood; chances; probability

加(か)入(にゅう)する to join; to become a member
