Today on the podcast My guest Ellen Stilwell a registered nurse certified in hospice and palliative care. While raising her two boys, she volunteered as part of the hospice team with Metropolitan Jewish Health System. Ellen is working with patients and families at home, the heart of hospice. She is also trained as a death doula by a Buddhist Monk. Ellen is on the faculty at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York, teaching Caring for the Patient Nearing End of Life.

It was interesting conversation about end of life care and the journey we all go through. Ellen talks about Hospices can be very beneficial for families and patients who are going the very challenging time and difficult time. For someone who had loves ones pass on I really appreciate the kindness and care for my mom and grandmother that Hospice provided. Ellen made me think when she said something about actively listening. Appreciate your family and close friends.
