Jody Wellman, a positive psychology practitioner, embarks on a mission to prevent the pangs of regret by encouraging people to live a life worth living, causing them to confront the absurdity of life's finite nature and reverse engineer a life of delight. "Let's go all the way to the end and then say, hey, how do I want to be remembered? What's my legacy? Or how, again, would I feel proud that I lived a life that makes me feel like I was alive, that I showed up as a good parent if that's applicable? And so then that does allow us to work backward and then kind of reverse engineer a life that makes us feel delighted." Jody Wellman is a recurring corporate executive with and master's in positive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. She dedicates her life to helping others find happiness and fulfillment through her Creative 4000 Mondays program. Jody Wellman was driven to learn about living a life worth living. After pondering the concept of temporal scarcity, she came to realize that on average, humans have only 4000 weeks to make an impact. This realization shook her and she began to focus on widening and deepening her life in order to be fully alive. She became conscious of her routines and started to challenge herself with new experiences. Through this, she learned to make the most of her time, no matter how small the moments were. Ultimately, Jody was determined to make sure she wouldn't have any pangs of regret at the end of her life. In this episode, you will learn the following: 1. How to create a life worth living 2. The dangers of autopilot and how to break out of it 3. How to widen and deepen your life for greater aliveness and purpose.
