Dr. Ewing is a Professor in African American studies and the author of "Age of Garvey" In this episode we discuss the ideological roots of Marcus Mosiah Garvey. Marcus Garvey was the leader of the Universal Negro Improvement Association. The U.N.I.A would go on to become one of the largest liberation movements in history. Dr. Ewing provides insight into the impact of the U.N.I.A in the southern half of the United States. We also discuss the influence of Garvey in the Caribbean, Central America, and Africa.
