We gathered young activists from Oslo and all over the world for a conversation on the power of youth activism. What are you willing to sacrifice for a cause you believe in? What sparks youth activism around the world? How can young voices reach even further? What does it take to engage youth in developed and privileged societies like Norway? Penelope Lea, Norwegian climate activist and UNICEF-ambassador since the age of 15, and Marianne Dahl, a researcher working on non-violent activism at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), will sit down with Shahed Zahaykeh who will discuss her experience of activism as a Palestinian living in Norway. The panel discussion is moderated by Asta Nuka Fruelund Gabriel. Shahed and Asta are students at UWC Red Cross Nordic, a school with 200 students from 90 different countries. The aim of UWC Red Cross Nordic is to use education as a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. A PART OF NOBEL PEACE TALKS The event is co-hosted by UWC Red Cross Nordic and part ofthe series Nobel Peace Talks, exploringtopicsrelated to the Nobel Peace Prize 2023 to Narges Mohammadi.
