“Nothing Funny about Money,” is the brainchild of hosts Matt Goren and Michael Gene Thomas from the College of Family and Consumer Sciences’ department of financial planning, housing and consumer economics at The University of Georgia. Goren is an adjunct assistant professor and Thomas is a doctoral student in the department. Our intended audience is people who find personal finance a bit scary and frustrating but still need help,” Goren said. The focus is less on money and more on quality of life, setting goals and being solution-focused, he said, while adding humor and levity to attract a broad audience.
