The Power of Forgiveness

"Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violets shed on the heels that have crushed it." Have you been crushed by "heels" that you never expected to be crushed by? Have you been violated by others? Have you been lied about? When wrong is done to you how do you react? Do you bottle all the emotions that you feel or do you lash out? And though I understand it's natural to try to defend ourselves from the attacks of others, we must realize that for the most part when people try to do us wrong they are in many ways, doing wrong to the false construct that they have about us. If you look at it that way it's easy to forgive. Have you noticed how it's so easy for some people to hate someone they never had a personal contact/relationship with? Again realize they are only hating a notion, an idea, and in many ways they are showing us how troubled the are inside. What we must do is to live in peace-this peace comes from a spirit that does not harbor ill-will, a spirit of love; and love conquers all things.
