When the pandemic caused a run on wheat flour, Kansas Wheat and the K-State Grain Science and Industry Department responded. Kansas Wheat donated 20,000 pounds of locally grown wheat, and the campus flour mill reopened to mill the wheat into 10-pounds bags of flour that were given away to local residents.
