Two north west projects are among 17 nationally that are set to benefit from almost €300,000 in funding under the 2024 Rural Innovation and Development Fund.

Donegal Town Community Chamber will receive €12,826 while €11,200 is on the way to Achonry Farmers Market in south Sligo.

Announcing the funding, Minister for Agriculture and Donegal Deputy McConalogue said the Food Vision 2030 strategy highlights the natural synergy between agri-food and local tourism.

Mary McGettigan of Donegal Town Community Chamber says the funding is a timely boost:
