Paul worked his way up and had a succesful career in the hotel industry back home in California. He went through every possible hositality department and eventually ended up in management where he started to feel bored and out of place, which led him to the decision to make a full 180. This is how he ended up in China. Today he runs a YouTube channel and goes by the (on-screen) name Walkabout Rojo (he explains the name in the podcast).

In this wide-ranging conversation, Paul talks about the hotel industry, both in the U.S. and in China, including very good advice on how to get the best deals and even free upgrades. We also discuss his Zhongshan university campus life and the recent social distancing situation that resulted with him being locked down alone on campus for a few weeks.
