We begin this week's show with Maj. Gen. Richard Gallant, the commander of Joint Task Force Civil Support, whose main mission is to respond to emergencies here in the homeland involving chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear (CBRN) materials. The team is on call 24/7 to deploy and coordinate the U.S. military’s response to a CBRN event on behalf of U.S. Northern Command.
Later in the hour, we’ll dive into the newest round of the Hack the Pentagon initiative. DoD has just awarded $7 million in contracts to two companies who’ll coordinate bug bounties, encouraging white hat hackers to look for security holes in DoD IT systems, including, this time around, mission critical systems. Jay Kaplan, the CEO of one of those companies, Synack, will join us.
