Newton started the Black Panther Party for Self Defense. Mr. Seale shared stories of his experiences as a social justice leader during that tumultuous time, and some of the events that led up to drafting the Black Panthers' Ten-Point Program. He recently co-authored the book Power to the People: The World of the Black Panthers with photographer Stephen Shames.
