Our specific aim in this year’s Word Seminars is to address the proper functioning of spiritual gifts and, for that matter, how to live a practical Spirit-filled life. I hope to provide an apostolic hermeneutic or understanding of the spiritual gifts.
This teaching addresses the Revelation Gifts given by the Holy Spirit to the Church. The Holy Spirit gives some gifts for the purpose of revelation. Included in this are wisdom, knowledge, and discernment (or the power to know). Along with the “word or message of wisdom and knowledge,” we include the “discerning of spirits” under this category.
