Last week we had a conversation about the results of a survey that asked 20 top producing agents in the province what their ideas were around the new rules and how to navigate them. This week on The Vancouver Island Real Estate Show, we are going to elevate that perspective by speaking with Cory Raven, Managing Broker of RE/MAX Select (Main Street). Cory manages a very productive office of 50+ REALTORS® and is a part of a multi-office group that more than 250+ REALTORS® call home. This gives Cory a higher-level view of some of the challenges that are coming up in the first 30 days with the new rules in the day to day business of his team, as well as some of the early solutions and best practices that are rising to the surface. Do you have any burning questions about the new rules and how to work within them effectively? Then bring them tomorrow morning at 11:15 am and ask Cory LIVE on Facebook.

About Cory:

Cory Raven is a Managing Broker at RE/MAX Select Realty. His career in real estate started in 1998 in condo project marketing. Working for Rennie Marketing in Vancouver, Cory built a resale division to capitalize on the market of people reselling their recently built homes and condos.

In his experience in the real estate market in Vancouver, Cory always associated RE/MAX with the utmost professional business practices. Cory has always believed and practiced professionalism, so it was no surprise that he chose to begin his career with RE/MAX in 2010.

Aside from the professionalism aspect of RE/MAX and its agents and managing brokers, Cory credits the power of the balloon.

It is not surprising to say that there is a lot of noise in the marketing world of real estate. Still, more than 90% of people answer ‘RE/MAX’ when asked to identify a real estate company. Cory Raven identified and valued the power of the brand and the success it could lead him to.

Today, Cory Raven is the Managing Broker of RE/MAX Select Realty. The RE/MAX Select Realty office is located between the East Side and West Side of Vancouver. The agents and managing broker specialize and serve clients primarily in Vancouver.

According to Cory, “There are top producers at every major brand and brokerage. However, RE/MAX is the only brand where the median agent is above the crowd.”

Most years, RE/MAX Select Realty sees 20-25% of their agents make the REBGV Medallion Club. The REBGV Medallion Club honors the top 10% of agents within a specific region.

In addition to being a managing broker and yielding high sales, Cory and his team place value on giving back within their communities and to local charities throughout the year.

For example, last year, a local boxing club that supports at-risk youth burned down in the neighborhood of the RE/MAX Select Realty office. The agents from the Select Realty office got together less than a month later and raised nearly $4,000 towards the boxing club finding a new space to operate from. Today, with the help of Cory and his team, the boxing club is back in business and is helping at-risk youth find their purpose.
