Today is Bell Let's Talk Day in Canada. A day with the bold mission of eliminating stigma around mental health in Canada. Why is this such an important conversation to have? One in five Canadians will suffer from mental illness at some point in their lifetime. One of the biggest hurdles for anyone suffering from mental illness is overcoming the stigma. It is the number one reason why two-thirds of those living with a mental illness do not seek help. The high flying and fast paced real estate industry is no exception to these stats. We work under tight timelines, high pressure and with seemingly increasing expectations. In this business, the stakes are high - both in terms of the risk and the reward. So today we shine a light brightly on the topic of mental health so that we can learn about how to be more compassionate to ourselves and more empathetic to others we work with you might be struggling. We couldn't have found a better person to have this conversation with than Bruno Guevremont. In addition to his unbelievable past experiences serving in our armed forces, he is also Bell Let's Talk ambassador. He brings the perspective of someone who was an extremely high functioning achiever, that then crashed out with severe symptoms of PTSD (PSDI), managed to pick himself up after years of struggling and now is living a full life that keeps getting better every day.
