Have you been wondering how to make the big pivot to virtual events? Are you a complete newbie when it comes to event technology and the virtual event world? As we speak with guest speakers and discuss our own experiences with the virtual and hybrid event industry, we will be going through the challenges you may face along the way and how to overcome these.

With the current situation, the rise and requirement for virtual and hybrid events are definitely on the rise - have you made the move yet? Listen to our live podcast every week on our Facebook page, or you can listen to the podcast version to find out how you can make your online events simple.

Jess has been in the events industry for a little over 2 years and came to it from a theatre and broadcast background, moving to virtual production in the last 6 months has been a challenge but an exciting opportunity for her and Stephanie has been involved in the events industry for 10 years, she studied events management at London Metropolitan University and has lived and worked in the city ever since. She is currently running her own virtual events business, Social Isolation, specialising in fun, engaging events, and bringing joy to people during these challenging times.

Jess and Steph begin by explaining a bit about themselves and what they specialise. They then get into a discussion about the production side of events and share the nitty gritty realities of the nature of the work. They have a full depth conversation on how to make events fun and engaging virtual events and they spill their top tips and tricks. They then talk about event technology and creating partnerships within the industry and how Jess and Steph both have tackled marketing and brand awareness for their own brands in response to that and the importance of accessibility and vulnerability.

Jess and Steph’s industry backgrounds (1:43) If event production is easier at virtual events or in-person events (8:57) How to make events fun and engaging (15:15) Event technology and partnerships (25:00) The future of hosting (27: 46)

EventMind does not endorse any particular virtual event platform or software. We review the platforms available on the market monthly (through a combination of client feedback, test events and demos). There’s no platform which is an ‘all in one’ or ‘all inclusive’ solution when it comes to virtual event platforms. Bear in mind, most virtual event platforms were originally live event apps or software. Covid19 accelerated many platforms to pivot into creating virtual event solutions. In the long run, this seems to be a smart move as hybrid events are likely to become standard (especially if you understand how to monetize hybrid events and maximise global audience reach).
