Who doesn't want to work at awesome tech companies like Google, Facebook, or Microsoft? What if you wanted to work for a tech startup in San Francisco or New York? Where do you start?
After graduating school with 5 different internship experiences and 10 attractive job offers, Cassidy Williams knows a thing or two about landing tech internships. In fact, she even interviews other students for the company's position so Cassidy has been on both sides of the spectrum.
I knew of Cassidy through the Hackathon Hackers community and from there, I found her amazingly detailed guide, Getting A Gig, that has helped dozens of people land tech internships. In the episode, we go over step by step on what it takes to land a tech internship in today's competitive job market.
At the end of the episode, I asked Cassidy, "If someone only had 30 minutes a day (or 4 hours a week) to devote to job searching, how should they spend their time?"
After our whole interview, I assumed she would said applying to 1 job each day or make 5 connections online / offine. But her answer really surprised me... listen to the end to find out.

  • What are the common mistakes people make when they network?
  • How do you show that you're confident & eager for a job opportunity without coming off as arrogant or cocky?
  • If I had only 30 minutes for job searching, what should I be doing every single day? What do you do every day?
