Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. Babs has never been particularly keen on Vampire Weekend and wonders if this is as much due to their aesthetic as their music. Will George's five-track playlist convince her that Ezra Koenig is more of a genius than she realises?
George also introduces Fran & Babs to self-styled "working class synth-pop" band Nation of Language. Formed in 2016, Nation of Language definitely wear their 80's synth-pop influences on their sleeve. While this is normally very much up Fran & Babs' street, will they think the band's music stands out enough in the 2020's?
