Triggered by Ocado sending Judith a money-saving voucher worth £1.16, and furthered by contributions from listeners in the Own It! Facebook Group, today’s focus is on thrift.

In The Show

Nicola is back in touch with local business colleagues in the Brighton area and been out with them for two lunches, both of which may result in profitable new business.

Judith has had a quiet social week which was a good thing since her business diary was busier than it has been for quite a long time.

What’s Fuelled Their Fire?

Judith’s enjoyed this new level of being useful to clients, and Nicola’s excited by new social media platform called TikTok.

Focus Of The Week

Triggered by Ocado sending Judith a money-saving voucher worth £1.16, and furthered by contributions from listeners in the Own It! Facebook Group, today’s focus is on thrift.

  • To what extent is being thrifty a good thing?
  • What issues arise from thrift such as hoarding, and not charging what your products and services are worth when you know how to create so much for free or cheap?
  • How does thrift limit or liberate you?
  • How do you balance thrift with spending money or expending your own energy to save money?

LISTEN HERE TO OWN IT #243 | Thrift

Words Of The Week

Nicola chooses Tolerations and Judith picks Sapiosexual.

Project Updates

Thomas Cook going bust has given Nicola a new idea for a business but she’s not ready to reveal yet!

Who Or What’s Impressed

Nicola is enjoying two shows on the BBC – The Rap Game and The Chef’s Brigade. Judith recommends PayPal credit to take the burden off her clients having to offer installments. PayPal offers buyers spending over £99 0% interest over four months and one of Judith’s clients used it to pay her £600 instead of 12 x £50. The advantages are many, not the least of which is that zero percent interest is thrifty. *** Join our free Facebook Group for Own It! the Podcast and talk back to us about what you hear in the show.
