It is on 30 square kilometers (12 sq miles) of hardened lava that was laid down by the last major eruption of Mount Fuji that happened in 864 CE. Although thousands of tourists are visiting it today, unfortunately, it is most well known as the "Suicide Forest." Today Japan has tried to do a number of things to discourage people from dying by suicide by putting up signs with suicide prevention information located at the forest entrance, and they no longer release the numbers of suicides in the forest. Due to its tragic history, It is no secret that the forest today is known to be haunted.
Later, Danielle talks about the strange and unexplainable disappearance of famed crime novelist Agatha Christie. One day in December 1926, Christie kissed her young daughter good night and drove off towards London. She was not seen again for eleven days. Why would this famous and successful novelist suddenly decide to vanish into thin air? Once found, Christie maintained that she had no recollection of what occurred the night she disappeared and she refused to speak about it ever again publicly.
