Hintergrund: Die Paneuropabewegung Österreich ist Teil der Paneuropa-Union, der ältesten europäischen Einigungsbewegung, die 1922 in Wien gegründet wurde. Sie setzt sich für ein in Frieden und Freiheit geeintes Europa auf Basis eines christlichen Menschen- und Wertebildes sowie der Subsidiarität ein. Die Zeitschrift „Paneuropa“ (erscheint sechs Mal im Jahr), weitere Publikationen und zahlreiche Veranstaltungen runden die Aktivitäten der Paneuropabewegung ab.
