It's time for Panhandle Scanner News. I'm your host, Brian Hale.

Let's take a look at what's happening around the Panhandle for Thursday, August 15th, 2024.

The post started, get out of the way on Highway 26 East between Mitchell and Scott's Bluff if you see a speeding truck. They've called in a medical emergency on a seven-month-old child and are trying to
get to the hospital. Red pick up with flashers on. Scanner traffic indicated that ambulance services were trying to meet the couple as they came to the ER with their sick child. Details have not been released, and we're praying for the best for this child, their parents, and for those caring for the child.

Back to school safety is a shared responsibility. Local schools and local police departments and all of us at the scanner are busy reminding everyone about back to school safety. Be sure to be careful on the roads out there. And speaking of roads, new cement work was recently completed on Pacific Boulevard, and we've been advised to remind everyone that this popular route won't be open until Friday. Pacific Boulevard is closed from Gentry Boulevard to U Street for emergency street repairs.

And did you know that WYO-Braska weather cams also serves as traffic cameras? We just watched the Nebraska State Patrol assist motorists near Chilis in Scottsbluff on our Reichert Jewelers at Walmart Plaza Weather Cam. It sounded like a F-150 was pulling a GMC envoy to Crawford, according to scanner traffic.

A warrant has been issued for Matthew Hall, 40-year-old from Morrill, Nebraska. Hall is on the run after failing to appear for sentencing.

Also don't forget our public record every Monday through Friday when available, with daily jail rosters, inmate search tools, daily specials from our sponsor Main Street Market, recent arrests and arraignments, and court appearances. It's all available at PanhandleScanner.com.

With Scanner News, thanks again for listening, and may God bless.

I'm Brian Hale.
