Betty Kreisel Shubert, bettyshubert@cox.net, OutofStyleTheBook.com, long time resident of Los Angeles, costume designer, fashion historian and author/illustrator of her new book - OUT-of-STYLE: A Modern Perspective of HOW, WHY and WHEN Vintage Fashions Evolved. Interviewed by Lon Woodbury and co-host Liz McGhee, admissions director for Sandhill Child Development Center in New Mexico, she described the flow and why of fashion changes over the last two centuries, some of the reasons for deviations from the dominant styles, and speculated on the reasons that some young people adopt bizarre styles of dress despite an almost overwhelming design to fit in with their peers.
