The role of parliamentarians to improve economic inclusion of domestic workers

In this episode, recorded during the 15th ParlAmericas Plenary Assembly “Promoting inclusive societies for substantive development,” Shirley Pryce, Founder and Chair of the Caribbean Domestic Workers’ Network from Jamaica describes the challenges faced by domestic workers, including exploitation and abuse, long working hours, low wages, limited access to social security, often sexual, emotional and physical abuse, and limited opportunities for education and professional development. Ms. Pryce presents the legislative responses to these issues, and the important role parliamentarians play to improving the economic inclusion of women working in the largest female occupation across the world.
