I’m pleased to share our 7th episode at Corner.RED. This time Ángel Martínez, Cali Condors’ Mexican swimmer, joined the podcast from México before heading to Tokyo, where he will be representing his country in the Olympics.

Ángel made his first breaststrokes inspired by his siblings, who were also swimmers. He thrives competing and his swimming speciality is butterfly stroke; given his excellence at swimming, he was sponsored by and given a scholarship at Texas A&M, where he graduated in Supply Chain Management, as he states himself on the interview: “I owe everything to swimming”. He currently holds the 200m freestyle Mexican record at 1:59,78 and he’s solely focused in swimming.

Through this 21 minutes-long interview, our guest goes through his training routine, both physical and psychological and also shares some interesting nutritional facts. Beyond sports, Ángel enjoys walking his Dalmatian dog, Hunter; he’s also a big TV series and movies fan, particularly anime/manga, which adds to the excitement of being in the Olympic Games, Japan is where his favourite genre comes from.

Our guest will be giving it all for Mexico on July 28th and 29th; given the current situation with the pandemic, there will be no rooting on the stands so I’m positive he will appreciate your support from home.

I hope you like this relaxed talk with our guest, see you in our next episode!
