In one way or another, we all have experienced how it is to be served. After Jesus taught His disciples on the subject of serving, Salome, the mother of John and James, bowed before the Lord as she made a request that her sons be granted to sit on the right and left of the Lord. Jesus replied, "you do not know what you are asking for". By the tone of the Lord's reply, it is implied the we must not do anything out of selfish ambition, that service to God comes with a great responsibility, and only our humility will make us worthy.
