I have quite the show for all of you, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it. Today, I sit down with Sarah Hammer of To the Point PDX. Sarah is an acupuncturist based in downtown Portland on the corner of 3rd and Washington—and she’s not your typical acupuncturist. You’re definitely going to want to listen into this episode and find out more about her and her practice. IN THIS EPISODE YOU WILL LEARN: Sarah’s origins and how she got her start. She was actually in PR and a bit of a skeptic before making a total life and career change to pursue Portland acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Being told she might never run again was what pushed her to look into all of her options and try Portland acupuncture for the first time. Her passion for treating skeptics. The reason she set up her practice downtown is because that’s where the most skeptics are! She also loves to bring acupuncture into the workplace and show how it can work. The kinds of ailments acupuncture can handle. Sarah’s short answer is, “Any kind of pain,” but she adds that it’s important to talk to your practitioner. If there’s a way for them to help you with something other than pain, they will absolutely let you know. How Chinese medicine fits in. Sarah tells us about the four modalities and how acupuncturists are trained in each one so they can help treat you in every way that they can. LINKS MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: To the Point PDX Linkedin Facebook Google Plus Twitter And so much more! There is a TON of awesome information packed within this twenty-minute episode, but the bottom line is this: if you’re skeptical about acupuncture, you are the EXACT person Sarah wants to talk to, so check out her episode and listen to what she has to say. You will definitely be surprised! Oh, and in case you’re curious… her favorite place in Portland is Planet Granite in the Pearl. Sarah says that rock climbing isn’t just great exercise; it’s like a mental exercise, too—a puzzle you can solve with your whole body. To the Point PDX in Pictures:
