The second episode of the Penny Podcast is at Lakeside Arts Centre at the University of Nottingham is where presenter Jennie Syson gets to grips with definitions of the sublime with art historian Nicholas Alfrey and painter Rebecca Partridge who have co-curated a group exhibition for The Grand Tour fringe.

Jennie also talks about the absurdist nature of contemporary art with featured artist Simon Faithfull, whose series Going Nowhere features in the exhibition. Talk spans from Buster Keaton to Samuel Beckett and the fulfilling nature of a futile gesture.

Features reference (in sound) to works by Richard T. Walker and Mariele Neudecker. The exhibition also features work by Scaling the Sublime includes work by: Martin John Callanan, Tim Knowles and Katie Paterson.
