Michael McDaniel is a fighter, literally. Never settling for second best this former semi-pro basketball player took up MMA at the young age of 41 after retiring from playing senior representative basketball.
With several pro fights under his belt and approaching 50, McDaniel is not done yet. Proud of his family name and heritage it is clear he loves to win and hates to lose. Something he has instilled in his daughters who at 7 and 14 are already on journeys of success of their own. Savannah Foran McDaniel is focusing on her acting career with some early awards at film festivals for her appearance in the short horror film, "Here there be monsters" and a number of memorable advertisements, she has a bright future.
A man of faith, Mike enters each cage fight to the hymn "Awesome God" and says unlike many who listen to rap and heavy metal to pump them up. He finds comfort and focus in such hymnals before each fight. With siblings and family members to look up to, including Uncles, the popular 70s group known as Travares and also his father who was a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Military, one of only a handful of African Americans to hold such a high military position.
