In this episode of the motivational Personal Innovation podcast, I had chat with Gameli Adzaho who believes that we all can combine different skill sets and mixed passions to leave a dent on the universe. He advocates for a practical approach to learning, critical thinking and solving problems with the tools that are available today.

Gameli Adzaho is a public health professional and STEM educator focused on ‘shaping Africa and shaping youth’.

Gameli holds a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Ghana and MSc in Environment and Human Health from the University of Exeter, where he was a Tullow Group Scholar.

Prior to his masters he was a science teacher at Keta Senior High Technical School where he taught chemistry and integrated science.

There he initiated projects to build the capacity of students and teachers in the school and beyond. He currently works in the public health space in Ghana, implementing a suite of sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) projects for an international NGO.

Additionally, he leads Global Lab, a platform that connects students to established scientists, and mobilises them to undertake social impact activities. He further contributes to various STEM (environmental health, digital literacy, practical science) and youth development initiatives.

He was the brain behind the design and delivery of Woekpor, a digital literacy initiative of Global Shapers Ho hub.

He was a core team member of SHAPE (Shaping Healthy Attitudes and Protecting the Environment) project, sponsored by the Wellcome Trust, which spurred basic school pupils in Accra to apply science to tackle local environmental health challenges.

Gameli has received a number of accolades and awards for his work on Global Lab and other initiatives.

These include New Accra Young Achievers Award, Airtel Evolve with STEM Champion, and Study UK Alumni Awards (Social Impact). He is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, a Next Einstein Forum Ambassador, and an alumnus of the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University.
