If know you me, you know that I have a complicated relationship with pro cycling, where I gave it the best years of my life, it stabbed me in the back and shoved me out in my prime, but then launched me to a better life than I ever could have dreamed of. To be honest (other than when someone texted me that a friend was going to win the stage) I haven’t watched a bike race since 2016. I was always turned off by some doper in the pack or the commentary booth, but folks liked the podcast series, and a ton of you asked me to keep it going during the Tour. Maybe this will be healthy for me.

I have done hundreds of pro races, I know these guys and the teams and a lot of what’s going on and I have plenty of inside squawk and gossip. I’ll give you the summary, tell you what I’m seeing that might be a little different from what they’re saying on TV, but mostly I’m looking to enjoy it together.
Today's stage was a 22 km time trial. This was the GC stage that we were all curious about and waiting for, and it did deliver. That said, it was also a time trial, which means it was very boring. I watched the whole thing so you don't have to.
